Howdy HN, just recently made this silly typewriter variant and think some of you might enjoy it so thought I'd share. Here the cursor takes no heed of what you're typing and just advances at a steady pace, with the effect that typing something reasonable-looking requires you to type at a very steady rhythm. There's also the bonus that the space character is no longer needed—you can (and kind of have to) just wait—so the keyboard minimalists among us can shave even more space off their devices. I recently needed to make a text appear on a website and I wanted to get this real human feeling that computers don't have. I only found the TypeIt lib but it was not free and I didn't want to add a dependency for such a simple case. Human replay allows to copy paste a few lines of JS to make a text appear exactly how you typed it.

I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into!
