I built remembered checkout for Voice calls

If you ever built a voice agent that takes orders or books appointments you know its essential to collect payments to avoid cancellations/no-shows. However, most consumers won't complete paying because of the friction involved (stumbling for the card, speaking the card number CVV etc). I built Ringup to help voice agents recognize repeat callers with just their phone number and charge their saved card in seconds. I've been asked what makes this lookup possible. Its the newly launched identity APIs from US carriers (T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon) as part of CAMARA project. These set of open…

What it does

Ringup is the identity and payments layer for AI voice agents. With Ringup, your agent knows who’s calling: greet them with name, recall their preferences, and charge a saved card in one word. Money settles straight to the merchant's processor.

Ringup is the identity and payments layer for AI voice agents. Your agent knows who’s calling: recognize the caller, recall their context, and charge a saved card in one sentence, or text a one-tap link to pay. Money settles straight to the merchant's processor.

Ringup helps voice agents recognize callers by phone number alone, so they can greet them, remember their usuals, and charge their saved card in seconds. Payments settle directly on the merchant's existing processor. Voice AI books the table, takes the order, files the claim. But every call starts from zero: the regular gets treated like a first-timer, reading out a 16-digit card number every time a payment comes up. The agent takes the order instantly, but the caller is a stranger: no name, no saved card. They still drive over and stand at the register to pay, adding lines for diners and work for staff. The agent greets the regular by name, confirms the usual, and charges their saved card…from ringup.dev

In the maker’s words, at launch

Ringup is built to simplify voice payments. My hypothesis is Voice AI will lead to an explosion in people transacting over phone calls. Ringup helps consumers save their card details once and use it everywhere. It helps merchants get payments directly to their processor. And it helps developers by reducing…

We're living in this weird asymmetry where companies use AI to talk to us, but we're still manually dialing them. Companies everywhere are adopting AI voice agents lately. Big retail, family dentist clinics, local pharmacy. This year, I've been in a few calls where it's super natural sounding AI, which has been pretty cool to experience. But then it got me thinking - why are we, the consumers, still the ones making calls if they're using robots for theirs? So I built Piper: basically AI that makes phone calls for you. You tell it what you need (book appointment, check on an order, dispute…

I might be the only SRE on Earth with his own bowling center. It's a more in-depth gig than you'd think. My family and I bought an abandoned 8-lane bowling center in the rural mid-west. In our small town there weren't many recreation options for families. You've heard of a food desert? This is an R&R desert. It had been abandoned for a good reason. The roof leaks, the electrical system was constantly surging, and my 70-year-old bowling equipment (still) doesn't work perfectly. The system that keeps your score is particularly interesting to me. It's the thing you watch during your game, but…

Over the past few months, our team has been building more and more slidedecks using web frontend technologies with coding harnesses like Claude Code, but a common complaint is to make even small edits we need to edit the code either manually or via the harness. To avoid this loop, I ended up creating Bento, a single HTML file with everything you need in a slide tool including animations and shared editing. There's no install or cloud login, everything works offline. The default deck is around 560 KB and it doesn't need to fetch anything once you got it. Open it in a browser and then you can…

  • A few days ago I found myself trying out GLM 5.2 and was really positively impressed. The capabilities and security I was getting from this LLM are similar to those I've gotten from models like Claude or GPT, and this really surprised me. But then I thought, "I wonder how it would work on a normal computer like mine," and above all, "I wonder if it would work without going into OOM on a computer like mine." So I started working with the help of agents to test this possibility. I started converting the model to int4, understanding MTP usage, and if possible implementing DSA for long context.…

Hello! For the last 2 months, I've been building OpenSEO. It's a user friendly UI wrapping the DataForSEO API which has high quality SEO data for keywords, backlinks, AI SEO and competitor research. Instead of paying $100+ per month, you buy DataForSEO credits and pay only for usage. The coolest thing about the project so far has been hearing about what people are building on top of it. People are using coding agents to quickly integrate with Google Search Console, Google Ads and building their own AI SEO and reporting features. Many were already building their own custom solutions around…
