I made a simple agentic framework in JavaScript
Well, I wouldn't call it a framework, but rather an easy way to define tools and agents, allowing the agent to think and do the work. - Currently supports Open AI, and DeepSeek models. I tried building an HN title recommender agent with this framework that analyzes top-performing posts on HN and suggests titles for HN posts. And this was the agent's reply after inspecting 10 best posts: Having analyzed the top 10 performing posts on Hacker News, we've observed that successful titles are often concise, intriguing, and sometimes provocative or impactful. They tend to evoke curiosity, highlight…

In plain words
This is a JavaScript tool for building AI agents that can use defined tools to complete tasks. It supports OpenAI and DeepSeek models, allowing developers to create agents capable of reasoning and taking action. The creator demonstrated it by building an agent that analyzes top Hacker News posts and generates title recommendations based on what performs well.

EnvoyJS is a simple JavaScript framework for building AI agents. - meanands/envoyjs
⚠️ Warning EnvoyJS is in its early stages and is primarily developed for personal use. While it provides basic functionality for creating agents and tools, it may contain unknown bugs or unexpected behavior. Please use it cautiously, as it can potentially exhaust your valuable tokens or incur unexpected costs. Introduction EnvoyJS is a simple JavaScript framework for building agentic applications. With EnvoyJS, you can create agents with customizable behavior and functionality. The framework supports OpenAI models and allows the creation of custom tools that can be used by agents to perform various tasks. npm install @envoyjs/core Agents Agents are the core component of EnvoyJS. VoltAgent2025 · github.com · ▲162Hi HN, I'm founder of VoltAgent, a new open-source TypeScript-based framework for building AI agents. We know there are many frameworks out there. Our short story of why we built VoltAgent goes like this: We were developing an AI application ourselves. Initially, we tried existing frameworks. We also explored different flows using no-code tools. We noticed something interesting: the visual approach of tools like n8n made AI workflows much clearer and easier to understand. Building flows visually was neat and provided great visibility. However, we quickly ran into problems with no-code tools:…
Notte Browser Agents2025 · notte.cc · ▲275Hey HN, We’ve been building browser agents for a while. In production, we kept converging on the same pattern: deterministic scripts for the happy path, agents only for edge cases. So we built Demonstrate Mode. The idea is simple: You perform your workflow once in a remote browser. Notte records the interactions and generates deterministic automation code. How it works: - Record clicks, inputs, navigations in a cloud browser - Compile them into deterministic code (no LLM at runtime) - Run and deploy on managed browser infrastructure Closest analog is Playwright codegen but: - Infrastructure…
AgentKit – JavaScript Alternative to OpenAI Agents SDK with Native MCP2025 · github.com · ▲64Hi HN! I’m Tony, co-founder of Inngest. I wanted to share AgentKit, our Typescript multi-agent library we’ve been cooking and testing with some early users in prod for months. Although OpenAI’s Agents SDK has been launched since, we think an Agent framework should offer more deterministic and flexible routing, work with multiple model providers, embrace MCP (for rich tooling), and support the unstoppable and growing community of TypeScript AI developers by enabling a smooth transition to production use cases. This is why we are building AgentKit, and we’re really excited about it for a few…

We (Nick, Dens, Denzell, Fede, Drew, Aaryan, and Daniel) have been building HN Discovery, a discovery-focused search engine for Hacker News, in our spare time for the past 6 months and are excited to show it! It adds the following features relative to the existing keyword search interface and preserves the existing ones: - no-JS version (hnnojs.trieve.ai) - site:{required_site} and site:{negated-site} filters - public analytics - LLM generated query suggestions based on random stories - recommendations - dense vector semantic search - SPLADE fulltext search - RAG AI chat - order by…

I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box. All in all it's quite janky but a nice reminder of how general purpose PDF scripting can be. The linked PDF is all ASCII so you can just open it in a text editor, or have a look at…

21st.dev▲1,211I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!
