I made An AI assistant that does things, not just suggests them
Frustrated by AI assistants that can only suggest actions but never take them, I built Merlio (https://merlio.app) - an AI that generates charts, searches the web, creates images, and analyzes YouTube videos directly within conversations. Built with React, it functions as an AI hub providing access to multiple models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) through a unified interface. The custom LLM orchestration layer enables the AI to execute tools with proper parameters and process results while maintaining conversation flow. What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
Frustrated by AI assistants that can only suggest actions but never take them, I built Merlio (https://merlio.app) - an AI that generates charts, searches the web, creates images, and analyzes YouTube videos directly within conversations. Built with React, it functions as an AI hub providing access to multiple models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) through a unified interface. The custom LLM orchestration layer enables the AI to execute tools with proper parameters and process results while maintaining conversation flow. Users are visualizing data, generating designs, and summarizing hour-long videos all in a simple chat interface. Would appreciate feedback on this approach to making AI assistants more useful.

Hey everyone, I made this thing: https://tryflux.ai/. Here's a demo video: https://screen.studio/share/1y2EnC26 Context: I've tried probably 15 different AI apps over the past year. ChatGPT, note-taking apps, productivity apps, all of it. But most of them are just clutter on my iphone. They live in some app I have to deliberately open. And I just... don't. But you know what I open 50 times a day without thinking? iMessage. So out of mild frustration with the "AI app graveyard" on my phone, I built Flux. What it does: - You describe a personality and what…

Hi HN! Solo developer here. 10 days ago, I started building this after spending countless hours copying/pasting marketing sections and fighting to keep them consistent with our design system. I wondered: "What if AI could understand our design system and generate React components that actually match it?" Current progress (10 days in): - Can generate hero sections that follow your design tokens - Uses your actual component variants and styles - Works with Next.js, Tailwind, shadcn/ui It's very early days, but I'm excited to share it with other devs who: - Are tired of rebuilding…

Hey folks, I'm Yuval. I run a tiny startup called Glitter AI. It's just me full-time here, with a couple of freelances to help here and there. A couple of months ago, I went from managing zero requests to hundreds -- overnight (won Product of the day on Product Hunt). As someone who gets VERY easily distracted (maybe you relate), I had to find some sort of way of handling all the chaos if I didn't want to burn out. I came up with a pretty cool automation flow that I thought folks on HN here may be interested in reading about :) So here goes: Most of my interactions come through Intercom.…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
