IASOwl
Behavioral-science discipline for UPSC Mains answer writing
What it does
Most UPSC India apps add more content. IASOwl fixes the real problem: the compliance gap—you know what to do, but you don’t do it consistently. We are built for serious UPSC Mains aspirants (not Prelims) who want an unfair advantage: forcing functions, real stakes, and brutally honest feedback - so progress doesn’t depend on motivation. Why we’re different 🔒Remove the option to drift 💸Commitment contracts that make quitting painful 🥊Critical feedback loop designed for high-stakes performance

- UAUpplai – AI Feedback on Resumes and Cover Letters2025 · you.uppl.ai · ▲7
Hey HN, I built Upplai to help job seekers get quick, AI-driven feedback on their resumes and cover letters. The goal is to improve the chances of getting past Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and human recruiters. If you're job hunting, you can try it here: https://you.uppl.ai/login?invitation=ycombinator. Would love to hear your thoughts— does it actually help? What’s missing? Why I Built This: I founded Upplai because I’ve experienced firsthand how broken the hiring process is from both sides of the table. As a hiring manager, I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of…
- UYUpTrain (YC W23) – open-source tool to evaluate LLM response quality2023 · demo.uptrain.ai · ▲12
Hello, we are Shikha and Sourabh, founders of UpTrain(YC W23) - an open-source tool to evaluate the performance of your LLM applications on aspects such as correctness, tonality, hallucination, fluency, etc. The Problem: Unlike traditional Machine learning or Deep learning models where we always have a unique Ground Truth and can define metrics like Precision, Recall, accuracy, etc. to quantify the model’s performance, LLMs are trickier and it is very difficult to estimate if their response is correct or not. If you are using GPT-4 to write a recruitment email, there is no unique correct…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Community, All the HN belong to you. This is an archive of hacker news that fits in your browser. When I made HN Made of Primes I realized I could probably do this offline sqlite/wasm thing with the whole GBs of archive. The whole dataset. So I tried it, and this is it. Have Hacker News on your device. Go to this repo (https://github.com/DOSAYGO-STUDIO/HackerBook): you can download it. Big Query -> ETL -> npx serve docs - that's it. 20 years of HN arguments and beauty, can be yours forever. So they'll never die. Ever. It's the unkillable static archive of HN and it's…
