What it does

Inki consists of a special mechanism that makes the tip move up and down with a certain speed. This allows the user to quickly create different interesting shaped patterns. It is not only a traditional ballpoint pen but also an artistic tool that can be used by anyone. Check out how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWIibqffAaE

Inki Pen by DozenDots, allows you to write and draw with it like with a regular pen, and also use it for automatic pattern tool, to draw pointillism and more.

INKI is primarily a ballpoint pen which also contains a special mechanism that makes the tip moving rapidly, up and down. Behind this simple movement a complex mechanical solution is hidden. You can write texts or sign papers with it as well as draw automatic patterns of different shapes. Inki Pen has only natural metal texture and color, it is made with 2 different metals, stainless steel for silver version and brass for gold version. Please note that after a while your color could change a little bit, that is because of the specific metal structure. Be sure that you have insert a battery inside of the pen, turn gently the cap, turn deeper if you want to use a pointillisme mode, or unscrew…from inkipen.com

I've made a drawing app based on my physical sketching practice, using fluid sim and some shader tricks to mimic watercolor-style ink washes. Best used on iPad or with a drawing tablet. The linked article shows how the core engine works, with plenty of little interactive demos. It was fun to make, sharing in hopes others find it fun too :)
