Interactive Visuals for Major and Minor Scales on Piano
In plain words
Interactive Visuals for Major and Minor Scales on Piano is a web-based tool that helps users learn music theory by visualizing scales on a piano keyboard. It displays major and minor scales with interactive visuals, making it easier to understand scale patterns and relationships. The tool is designed for music students, pianists, and anyone learning music theory who benefits from seeing how scales are constructed on an instrument.

I made a software library for displaying piano music 7 years back, and recently ported it to the web (which is now easier than even ever). It displays sheet music as you play, and let's you take snapshots of specific chords, then keeps a running list of chords as keyboard visuals (instead of just displaying sheet music). Just a simple tool for songwriting/ figuring out songs by ear, or just understanding music key theory (which I'm admittedly a still a beginner at).

Outlines is a Python library that focuses on text generation with large language models. Brandon and I are not LLM experts and started the project a few months ago because we wanted to understand better how the generation process works. Our original background is probabilistic, relational and symbolic programming. Recently we came up with a fast way to generate text that matches a regex (https://blog.normalcomputing.ai/posts/2023-07-27-regex-guide...). The basic idea is simple: regular expressions have an equivalent Deterministic-Finite Automaton (DFA) representation. We…
