AI headshots built by a photographer, from 3 photos
What it does
ioomm was built by a working photographer — 15 years of studio work. Not an engineer. The lighting logic, framing, and expression guidance come from someone who's spent years getting real people to look great on camera. Upload up to 3 photos. Preview before you pay. No subscription. No generic avatars. Used by professionals, freelancers, and remote teams needing headshots that hold up on LinkedIn and company sites. 🎉 PH Launch Offer: 50% off — code PRODUCTHUNT

After playing with AI Avatars (like many of us I guess around here), I started to wonder if we could instead bring real value to people by producing affordable professional head-shots using a combination of Dreambooth and ControlNet. Obviously it's only the beginning and there are still many imperfections, but the foundational tech behind this (Dreambooth and ControlNet) are only respectively 6 months and 1.5 month old, and already delivers pretty amazing results. I came up with this little service "Virtual Face" and I'm looking for feedback if some of you are willing to try it (you can use…

Hey HN! Launching portraitmaker.ai - pro headshots generated uniquely for your face. Instead of using a generic model, I actually train a unique Flux LoRA model on your specific selfies. The idea is pretty simple: 1. Upload 10-35 selfies 2. Within 30 mins while the model finishes training 3. Call the trained model with a bunch of custom prompts for perfect headshots The results are pretty WILD - check out some examples on the site. Flux models have really changed the game. You can do this with almost anything - for example, cat portraits, dog portraits, etc. Btw, $20 gets you: - Custom model…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
