isometric.nyc – giant isometric pixel art map of NYC

Hey HN! I wanted to share something I built over the last few weeks: isometric.nyc is a massive isometric pixel art map of NYC, built with nano banana and coding agents. I didn't write a single line of code. Of course no-code doesn't mean no-engineering. This project took a lot more manual labor than I'd hoped! I wrote a deep dive on the workflow and some thoughts about the future of AI coding and creativity: http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc

In plain words

isometric.nyc is a large-scale isometric pixel art map of New York City created using AI coding agents and no-code tools. The project visualizes NYC in an artistic isometric style, demonstrating the application of AI to creative work. Though built without manual code writing, the creator reports the project required significant engineering effort and manual labor to manage the AI workflow and refine outputs.

Hey HN, As NYC wakes up to the largest blizzard in years, I’d like to share [isometric.nyc/snow](http://isometric.nyc/snow) - a wintry mix of the original isometric pixel map of NYC . This work builds on the original isometric.nyc ideas but aims to increasingly automate the process of generating the tiled images. I’ve written up a follow-up addendum at [cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc\#snow](http://cannoneyed.com/projects/isometric-nyc#snow) that describes some of this work, but the tl;dr is: * ensuring that training data and…

Hi HN, I’ve tried dozens of reminder and habit apps over the years. They’re all polite. Gentle. Easy to ignore. So I built something intentionally different. Mom Clock is a reminder app that behaves more like a strict parent than a productivity coach: – no snoozing – no “later” – optional app blocking using Screen Time APIs The idea came from my own behavior: I don’t need motivation — I need enforcement. This is not for everyone. Some people hate it. Some people love it. I’m genuinely curious where HN stands on this tradeoff: comfort vs. effectiveness. Happy to answer questions about: –…
