JumpRoot

Better Brainstorming

JumpRoot launched on October 26, 2017 with 2 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 8 years on.

What it does

JumpRoot is a web app for better brainstorming. Grow your ideas by starting simple, and breaking them down into detailed plans. Make better stories, presentations, and essays by starting with your outline and then adding the details as you think of them. If you're a writer, student, teacher, or a thinker, you should try the quick demo!

Hierarchical note-taking on Next.js + FastAPI + Clerk

JumpRoot organizes your notes as trees — nest ideas as deep as you need, drag branches around, and never lose track of where something lives. No folders fighting you, no flat list burying old notes. Just trees that grow the way your ideas do. Every note can branch into as many sub-notes as an idea needs — reorder and drag branches anywhere. Every create, move, copy, and delete is tracked, so you can experiment freely and step back anytime. Export any tree to a plain JSON file and import it back — your notes are never locked in. Live search surfaces matching notes instantly, keeping their place in the tree so you stayfrom jumproot.com
