What it does
Speed up your tests with optimal test suite parallelisation. Automatically distribute your Ruby tests evenly across CI nodes. Supported test runners RSpec, Minitest, Test::Unit, Cucumber, Spinach, Turnip. Knapsack Pro works with multiple CI providers like CircleCI, Travis-CI, Buildkite, Codeship, Heroku CI, Gitlab CI, SemaphoreCI, Jenkins and it works with other CI servers.
Split Ruby, JavaScript tests on parallel CI nodes to save time. Supported Ruby: RSpec, Minitest, Test::Unit, Cucumber, Spinach, Turnip. JavaScript: Cypress.io, Jest, Vitest, Playwright
The first 14 days are on us. Then pricing starts at $10/committer/month. Knapsack Pro creates a queue of test files sorted by execution times that is consumed in batches by each parallel CI node. The split is balanced regardless of varying runtimes, CI nodes boot time, failing or flaky tests. In case of network issues, Knapsack Pro automatically switches to Fallback Mode and splits your tests based on file names. In the unlikely scenario where some nodes switch to Fallback Mode, but others don't, some tests might be run on multiple CI nodes. Knapsack Pro parallelizes tests across CI nodes by example . This is useful when you have slow test files but don't want to manually split test…from knapsackpro.com

Faster FastAPI with simdjson and io_uring on Linux 5.192023 · github.com · ▲290A few months ago, I benchmarked FastAPI on an i9 MacBook Pro. I couldn't believe my eyes. A primary REST endpoint to `sum` two integers took 6 milliseconds to evaluate. It is okay if you are targeting a server in another city, but it should be less when your client and server apps are running on the same machine. FastAPI would have bottleneck-ed the inference of our lightweight UForm neural networks recently trending on HN under the title "Beating OpenAI CLIP with 100x less data and compute". (Thank you all for the kind words!) So I wrote another library. It has been a while since I have…
We built a tool that automatically generates API tests2022 · stepci.com · ▲108Hi, this is Mish and Sebastian. We are working on Step CI - a fully automated API testing platform for developers. Step CI works programming-language independent and for different API paradigms (REST, GraphQL, XML). Our CLI and test runner are available on GitHub (https://github.com/stepci) under the MPLv2 license. Since our last launch, Step CI is now able to generate automated tests for your API based on your OpenAPI (Swagger) spec. This saves you a lot of time as you never have to write and maintain your tests again! We would like to invite you to try our tool and give us…
PBT – A property-based testing library for Ruby2024 · github.com · ▲196Hello HN, I introduce a property-based testing tool for Ruby. Ruby's ease of test-writing and rich ecosystem are widely acclaimed. However, property-based testing is not as widely used as in other languages such as Haskell or Elixir, and I think this is because there is no de facto testing tool. This gem currently not only has the basic functionality of stateless property-based testing but also has the following features: - Support verbose mode that allows you to see its shrinking procedure and algorithms. - Support several concurrency/parallel executions of each test. As of now,…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
