Kortyx
Hey HN I’m Dima. I built Kortyx after a failed attempt to find product-market fit with an AI product-analytics startup. When it was time to pivot i was looking for other ideas and figured that i constantly struggled with getting users to provide "ideal" context to my agents. it resulted in weak prompts, degraded agent performance, etc etc. So i thought what is instead of asking every user to provide background, Kortyx captured the context directly and then served it at the right time. Kortyx is a desktop app (Windows + macOS) that quietly sees what you see and builds a private memory layer…
Kortyx launched on September 18, 2025 with 10 votes, #1,170 of 8,160 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Kortyx sees what you see and builds a private memory layer from your digital life. Instantly recall anything you’ve read or watched with Ask Memory, or supercharge any AI with rich context using Memory Boost for answers that feel almost telepathic.
Kortyx learns how you work, suggests tasks it can take off your plate, and does them for you. Delegate from desktop chat or Telegram.

- IBI built a more productive way to manage AI chats2025 · contextch.at · ▲162
I released ContextChat, an AI chat designed to be context-centric, helping you stay focused and productive by giving you control over the information your AI sees. You can import websites, files, and public/private GitHub repos to give the AI full knowledge of your projects. Unlike other chatbots, ContextChat lets you easily switch between project contexts, so you get relevant answers and avoid the noise. It's pay-per-use, giving you flexibility and control over costs and free models are available so you can try it for free with no monthly subscriptions. Let me know your feedback!

FriendwareJan 2026 · friendware.ai · ▲190Hey HN, I built Friendware because I wanted autocomplete that works everywhere on my Mac, not just in code editors. In any text field it can draft replies, rewrite text, and write prompts for AI tools; it uses on-screen context to adjust based on what you’re doing. My goal was making it feel native and not require workflow changes, so it stays accessible across apps by living in the notch. Currently working on better voice learning and a memory system, would love feedback on what to prioritize!

The site hit #1 on HN about a year ago. Got enough traffic that I turned it into a proper API. What's there: - REST API — 35k products, manually filterable by category, free key, 60 req/min - CLI — npx anycrap random -c food - faker.js plugin — bundled, no API call, works offline - HuggingFace dataset — full 35k rows for ML/training https://anycrap.shop/developers

I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into! So, I started with embedding apps into the terminal because that is the easiest input/output (output is just utf-8 and I use the great `chafa` library for that, and I just read from stdin for the input). If you have any other ideas for cool Wayland compositors, let me know. I purposedly wrote 80% the app in Typescript to appeal to the most developers and…

Years ago I stumbled across a basic version of this concept and it stuck with me. I knew if I was ever going to take on such a project, it would need to be flawless, but without coding experience it was just another idea that would never happen. By the end of 2024, as AI coding tools exploded everywhere, I finally had a way to make it real. I started from zero knowledge and spent months collaborating with AI agents as a learning experience. Every pixel and every function went through me. The AI translated what I asked for into code, but every decision was human. I didn't use existing OS…
