What it does
KText is built for what most teams actually use AI for: writing with confidence and without the effort. It turns rough intent, voice dictation, prewritten text, and context from your active window into ready-to-send drafts in any Windows app. Most routine writing doesn’t need a long chatbot conversation to write a simple message. You just need the right words where you’re already typing.
KText is a Windows AI writing assistant that auto-drafts emails from voice dictation and screen context, and rewrites text in Outlook, Gmail, Jira, and support workflows. Integrates into every Windows app effortlessly.
The core capabilities that make KText faster, clearer, and more consistent. You dictate the intent, KText writes the message—like having an executive assistant draft your emails. Cut your writing and editing time in half. Streamline communication tasks and boost individual and team output instantly. Unlike other tools, KText reads the room. It uses what's on your screen to help your responses land every time. You handle the strategy. KText handles the phrasing. Automate repetitive writing tasks and lower your cognitive load. Ensure every team member's communication stays on-brand. Build team prompts to keep messaging aligned across your org. Built on OpenAI's flagship ChatGPT-5 model,…from ktext.net

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
