Leaftide

I'm a hobby gardener in the UK, and I got tired of garden planners telling me to plant tomatoes in March (when it's still freezing). Every app I found used generic USDA zones or assumed you lived in California. So I built Leaftide - a garden planner that actually knows your local climate. *What makes it different:* - *Real frost dates* - Uses NOAA climate data for your exact location, not coarse hardiness zones - *Growing Degree Days* - Calculates when plants will actually mature based on accumulated heat - *Permanent plant tracking* - Track fruit trees, berry bushes, perennials across…

What it does

Leaftide is a planting calendar and layout planner for veg beds, borders, fruit, herbs, flowers, shrubs and trees. It adapts to local climate and helps with timing, quantities and container or bed layouts. Most tools focus on design sketches or houseplants, while Leaftide organises real outdoor growing with clear schedules and spacing guidance.

Track what you planted, when you planted it, and what actually worked. For vegetables, fruit trees, shrubs, and perennials. Free plan included.

Leafsnap is a project I've been working on for about 2 years and we finally launched yesterday! It also has an automatic-recognition feature that uses computer vision to help users identify trees by taking a photo of a leaf. This project is a joint collaboration between the computer science departments at Columbia University and the University of Maryland, and botanists at the…

  • Community, All the HN belong to you. This is an archive of hacker news that fits in your browser. When I made HN Made of Primes I realized I could probably do this offline sqlite/wasm thing with the whole GBs of archive. The whole dataset. So I tried it, and this is it. Have Hacker News on your device. Go to this repo (https://github.com/DOSAYGO-STUDIO/HackerBook): you can download it. Big Query -> ETL -> npx serve docs - that's it. 20 years of HN arguments and beauty, can be yours forever. So they'll never die. Ever. It's the unkillable static archive of HN and it's…
