LibreDB Studio

SelfHosted OpenSource SQL IDE that deploys next to your data

What it does

LibreDB Studio is the open-source database IDE that deploys next to your data instead of onto your laptop, one browser tab for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and thirteen more engines. No tunnelling from a laptop into production, no handing credentials to a cloud service. Run it with one docker run, one Helm chart, or npx. SSO, audit trail, ER diagrams and AI-assisted queries are all MIT licensed, with nothing behind an enterprise wall. Live demo, no install: app.libredb.org

Running in about ten seconds. You create a Postgres on Railway. It is ready before your coffee. Then you want to look inside it — so you expose a port to the internet, or install a desktop client and dig an SSH tunnel, or give up and drive it from a shell. Databases moved — into Kubernetes, into PaaS platforms, into a customer's VPC. The tools that read them did not. They are still desktop applications: heavy, licensed per seat, built for one…from libredb.org

  • I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers. The UX is essentially that of a chess clock for an arbitrary number of players with configurable time. The whole point of the app is to kick you out of the running role/priority when its time is up.
