Bionic is LM Studio's agent for work and code. Create documents, slides, PDFs, and software with local or frontier open models.
Agentic power. At your fingertips. An agent for work and code. Work with Bionic to create and edit documents. Every change is automatically saved, so you can work with your agent freely. Bionic also excels at coding tasks, automations, and computer control. Ask it for help with anything you need done. Talk to Bionic naturally, and your speech gets transcribed in real time. Your voice and audio data is processed locally and never leaves your device. Supports multiple languages. Open-Source Alternative to OpenAI Platform, for Local Models2025 · github.com · ▲93Hi everyone, we’re a small team, supported by Mozilla, who are working on re-imagining a UI for training, tuning and testing local LLMs. Everything is open source. If you’ve been training your own LLMs or have always wanted to, we’d love for you to play with the tool and give feedback on what the future development experience for LLM engineering could look like.

Bodhi App – Run Open Source/Weights HuggingFace LLMs Locally2024 · github.com · ▲21Hi HN, I'm excited to share Bodhi App, a tool designed to simplify running open-source Large Language Models (LLMs) locally on your laptops. While we currently support M2 Macs, we plan to support other platforms as our community grows. # Problem To use LLMs, you typically need to purchase a subscription from providers like OpenAI or Anthropic, or use OpenAI API credits with compatible Chat UIs. These options can not only burden you financially, but also raise data security and privacy concerns. Many laptops are capable of running powerful open-source LLMs, but for non-tech users, setting…

I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box. All in all it's quite janky but a nice reminder of how general purpose PDF scripting can be. The linked PDF is all ASCII so you can just open it in a text editor, or have a look at…

21st.dev▲1,211I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!
