Lockish

What it does

Lock any Mac app with Touch ID or Face ID. Protect banking apps, messages, email, and more with biometric authentication. Set per app idle timeouts to auto lock when idle.

Lock any Mac app with Touch ID or Face ID. Protect banking apps, messages, email, and more with biometric authentication.

Put Touch ID in front of any app, so banking, messages, and email stay yours — even when someone else is at your keyboard. Add an app to Lockish and it's instantly protected. Next time you open it, Touch ID confirms it's you before granting access. Set per-app idle timeouts. Step away from your Mac and protected apps automatically minimise and re-lock. No action needed. Unlike other app lockers, Lockish only locks the specific app window. Everything else stays fully accessible — no full-screen overlays. Unlock with Touch ID for instant access, or use your Mac password on devices without biometrics. Set per-app idle timeouts. When the timer runs out, the app is instantly minimized and…from appish.app

  PanicLock – Close your MacBook lid disable TouchID –> password unlockApr 2026 · github.com · ▲265

I wrote this after the case of a Washington Post reporter, Hannah Natanson, was compelled to unlock her computer with her fingerprint. This resulted in access to her Desktop Signal on her computer, revealing sources and their conversations. https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/washington-post-raid-pro... Edit: I've a lot more details about the legality and precedence on the apps landing page https://paniclock.github.io/

Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
