Macro – unified system for email, chat, tasks, docs, agents (AGPL/Rust)
Hey HN! We're launching Macro (macro.com) — an open source, AI-native system that unifies email, chat, tasks, calls, docs, and CRM in one interface with shared memory. Before Macro, we ran our startup on Superhuman + Slack + Notion + HubSpot + Linear. Each of these apps are good but they don't talk to each other, they're proprietary and closed off. We wanted one unified system, open source, with shared memory, that we could build our company around. Macro is built to be modular and fast. It's designed to be your command center, your operating system. There's still a lot left to do. We're…
What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
We're currently working on CRM, Pull Requests / GH integration, and making Macro even more extensible. You can self-host or use the hosted version. Pls let me know what you think! You can open a PR on the repo or leave feedback here and we'll work on it.

- TCThink, CL tool that makes AI your command line copilot (written in Go)2023 · github.com · ▲14
Hi HN, I'm thrilled to share with you think, a command-line tool that I developed while diving back into the programming scene. For the past few years, my focus had shifted from hands-on programming to managerial roles, my last one being at Affirm (I started Affirm's Polish office). However, I recently left my job to revisit my passion for coding and see if I could still write code that works. Not to mention that with what is currently going on in AI if you are a developer this probably the best possible time for a sabbatical in human history :) My first attempt was with LangChain, but I…

Hey HN, this is a side-project I've been working on for my senior year independent work in CS. Would appreciate any comments or feedback. www.aperator.com Thanks!
- MCMoneta – Conversation as the Engine of Application State2025 · ▲9
Hi HN! I’m Thunder. Longtime lurker and first time poster. I’m excited to present Moneta (https://moneta.studio/) with my co-founder Rob. *Moneta is a conversation-as-code platform for building multiplayer AI-native applications in which the AI can reactively update the application based on interactions with users or other AI via CRDTs.* The key idea is that rather than using a conversation to generate an application, in Moneta the conversation *is* the application. We call this idea 'conversation as the engine of application state' (CATEOAS). This means that instead of saying…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

- H6Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481
Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
