Mel – The missing unsubscribe button for physical mail
Since 2017, I've been on a mission to stop the deluge of paper mail that ends up in my trash. It's been a slow, manual process, but I've succeeded! I created Mel to help others rid themselves of physical junk mail. Simply text a photo of junk mail and Mel contacts the sender to have you removed from their list – no registration or app required.
In plain words
Mel helps users reduce unwanted physical mail by allowing them to text photos of junk mail to the service. Mel then contacts the sender to request removal from their mailing list. Designed for anyone overwhelmed by paper clutter, it requires no registration or app installation, making the unsubscribe process for physical mail straightforward and accessible.

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
