Merlin by Encord
Manage your AI data infrastructure in a single conversation
What it does
Merlin is the agentic intelligence layer for Encord. Set up a project from a prompt, get the metrics and coverage gaps that matter on demand, and fix the issues holding your model back. This release lets you manage your AI data infrastructure in a single conversation, from the tools you already work in. Now in beta via MCP, in Claude, Codex and all other agentic coding platforms – with Slack and more coming soon.

Hi HN! We are building [Merlin](https://www.usemerlin.io/), a GTM intelligence platform that gathers contextual insights about prospects and key stakeholders, so sellers don’t have to spend hours on tedious research tasks across hundreds of companies. Our thesis is that content generation and workflow/sequence automation providers are generating a lot of noise in social media (and inboxes) today and they are making the problem of outbound sales worse. We believe that every customer interaction (emails, cold calls or discovery calls) should be powered by intelligence. With…

- WMWe made an open-source AI agent to help you during your on-call shifts2024 · merlinn.co · ▲5
Hey guys, We’re excited to introduce to you what we’ve been working on for the past few months. We are two co-founders and we’ve both experienced on-call shifts where we felt unprepared, the relevant people weren’t around to help or we were left in the middle of the night trying to figure out what went wrong. Merlinn is an open-source AI on-call developer that lives in Slack. It can help you alleviate some of the pains mentioned above by connecting to your favorite tools and pair with you to triage the incident. We also have a pro version that we host on our cloud. Our goal is to help…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!
