Miniflux-CLI – offline-first Miniflux client

Hey Hacker News, miniflux-cli developer here. I use miniflux as primary source of things to read (including hacker news, of course), but in my case I don't have stable internet connection most of the time, so I did offline-first console client for miniflux, check it out: https://sr.ht/~xn/miniflux-cli/ It syncs all feeds and entries on start and after that you can read all the content offline (including "mark as read"/"mark as unread"). What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hey Hacker News, miniflux-cli developer here. I use miniflux as primary source of things to read (including hacker news, of course), but in my case I don't have stable internet connection most of the time, so I did offline-first console client for miniflux, check it out: https://sr.ht/~xn/miniflux-cli/ It syncs all feeds and entries on start and after that you can read all the content offline (including "mark as read"/"mark as unread"). The project built on go, using bbolt db, tview and official miniflux api client. Some neat features - you can set text and background colors of each ui element and hide/show sidebar, statusbar and hotkeybar. Custom hotkeys will be available later, for now "vim-like" is used.

Does the same job

    Simple Hacker News Client for Emacs2013 · github.com · ▲81

I wrote this small client to read hackernews from my favorite editor. It's currently using an external HTTP API [0] but I'm working on my own proxy [1]. I'd love to actually scrape and cache all the info I need using lisp. However, my time constraints are keeping me away of that goal. I could definitely use some help here! :) I'm also planning to add support for comments and posting new things. Any feedback is highly appreciated! Thank you! A Simple Load Testing CLI Built in Go2023 · github.com · ▲9

There are plenty of good tools for load testing such as JMeter, Minigun, and plenty more - but they all have their own set of options to learn. I built this one to support a simpler workflow where you just paste your curl request (or other cli command) after your `spam` config (literally just `spam -r 2 -- curl www.google.com). It's pretty barebones but I'm 100% going to use it in my day to day - figured I'd share it here if it helped anyone else!

    Open-source streaming API from ingest to player2024 · github.com · ▲5

Hi there HN! I'm Matthias and I've been into video streaming for quite a while now. Over the years I've built plenty of small setups, often CLI tools to test and debug streaming video. About a month ago, during my annual holiday, I started working on a simple API on top of my CLI tools. It's time consuming to craft and run multiple ffmpeg jobs, get GOP / keyframes right, merge playlists, package to HLS, ... One thing led to another and I eventually started exploring HLS interstitials, VMAP / VAST and dynamic ad insertion, MSE / EME (HLS.js in general), React (perf) as a player…

    Serverless Apps on Cloudflare – A book on the Cloudflare dev platform2024 · pragprog.com · ▲6

Hello HN! I am Ashley, author of the book Serverless Apps on Cloudflare, and I'm excited to share it with you and hopefully spread the awareness of the powerful and developer-focussed platform that Cloudflare has built, that I believe is currently flying under the radar! For years, I've been building applications on Cloudflare - from websites, to APIs, to Discord bots and everything in-between. The platform has grown hugely in the past few years, to the point it has all the essential building blocks for modern applications. It's also built with engineers in mind, the developer experience…

ChonkLM – Tiny language models running offline in the browserMay 2026 · chonklm.com · ▲6

I had been looking to try <500M parameter language models but you wouldn't find an API to try them anywhere, so I built this cloudflare hosted static website that hosts weights and built an inference runtime for these models that uses WebGPU and runs inference from your browser. These are only so useful in a multi-turn conversation but it's still interesting to see what you can pack in a <250mb model. I tried using ONNX versions earlier, but there were too many quirks of using them with language models and the TPS wasn't too impressive. Inspired by svenflow/webgpu-gemma, I put my codex…
