Mochi Analytics
Hey everyone, I wanted to see if I could build something like DataFa.st myself, so I made MochiAnalytics. I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. It’s got all the bells and whistles a small team or solo founder would need to track campaigns and to see which channel is driving revenue. It’s a cheaper analytics tool for side projects, indie hackers, and small apps. I honestly wish I could make it free, but it still needs servers, a database, and a backend to keep event ingestion running 24/7, so there are real costs behind it. I’m still working on it and will keep adding more features…

What it does
Most analytics tell you who visited. Mochi tells you which visits became money. Connect Stripe and every dollar maps back to the channel that earned it - Organic, Social, Product Hunt, that one Reddit thread on one page, not 10+ dashboards. One line of script, live in 5 minutes. Plus heatmaps, funnels, custom events, Search Console keywords and a separate AI-crawler chart. Free for 14 days, from $6.99/mo, every feature on every plan.
Cookieless web analytics that connects to Stripe, so every visitor is traced back to the channel that earned them — and the revenue they brought. One page, no cookies, no training. Free for 14 days.
Mochi is privacy-first web analytics that connects to Stripe. Every visitor is traced back to the channel that earned them — and the revenue they brought. One page you can read in ten seconds. Most analytics tools are built for a marketing department that doesn't exist at your company. Mochi is built for the person who has ten minutes on a Monday and one question: is any of this working? Nobody enjoys GA4. Mochi puts the same traffic on one page you can read in ten seconds — no explore tab, no report builder, no certification course. One line of script. It works with every site, web app and CMS. Your first visitor usually shows up before you've closed the tab. Your visitors are never sold,…from mochianalytics.com

TLDR: I made a public only web analytics without signup. Stores views and visitors for 10 days before deleting data. Exactly 25 days ago today I posted here, proud of my new web analytics. The response was mixed and my post even got flagged (understandable). It was my first real launch and I actually made a sale just a day later of 49$(!). Back then my project was pay once, keep forever. Since then I have sadly went over to the dark side (subscription based). Anyways, I never went back to look at the post after the first two hours, turns out I got a lot of answers. Most answers was something…
- GAGoogle Analytics alternative with the most generous free tier2023 · beamanalytics.io · ▲124
Hi HN, As an indie hacker, the new Google Analytics (GA4) coming motivated me to look for a straightforward alternative that would also be affordable. I had a few basic product requirements and didn’t want to spend too much to replace a free product. There are a lot of great Google Analytics alternatives out there, but the pricing didn’t seem right. As someone who likes to just build things, many of which aren’t businesses yet, it didn’t make sense to pay for options like Plausible and Fathom out of the gate. So I joined with a friend to build Beam Analytics. Beam gives you all the standard…
- IBI built a tool to talk to Stripe data2024 · dataraccoon.io · ▲7
Hey HN! I am a developer working on a startup doing lots of payment integration stuff with payment providers like Stripe. I built a tool to talk to Stripe data, just so that I can answer questions from our team. I turned that into analytics tool (sort of) to answer questions about MRR, churn, revenue etc. (https://www.dataraccoon.io/). There is a two minute demo video on the page if you want to see how it works, or you can use free trial without needing a credit card. I was wondering if you would use such a tool directly in Slack or prefer receiving messages about your metrics…

I spent last 6 months trying to build Simple Ops [1] to democratize website performance monitoring so anyone can use it. A year back, while I was trying to measure performance for Visa List as it became a huge content website with more than 100K pages. Also as data is changing very frequently, it's very hard to keep doing this manually. I searched on google and found that all the solutions are just uptime monitoring and nothing and none of them truly measure performance. So I decided to build one for myself. But it turns out website performance monitoring is not so simple after all and with…
A lightweight open-source web analytics for webdevs2023 · github.com · ▲7I wanted to share something I've been working on recently: Statum, a handy web analytics tool. https://github.com/extractumio/statum The journey began when I found myself frequently needing simple web analytics for my projects. I tried Google Analytics, especially GA4, and realized it was quite complex and, at times, not very accurate, especially when I wanted to view stats for the current day or recent hours. Then I tested a few fancy startup solution but ended up with way too expensive plans the expect me to subscribe (I'm not that rich to pay $99/month for every…
Got tired of paying $100/mo for SEO tools, so I built an alternativeMay 2026 · idiotproofseo.com · ▲13Like many solo devs and indie hackers, I was paying $100+/mo for enterprise SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush) but only using about 5% of their features. I really just needed basic keyword research, SERP difficulty analysis, and simple rank tracking. I wanted to see what the actual floor was for raw SEO data if you stripped away the fluff and enterprise bloat. I spent the last few months wiring together different data sources to find out. I got my costs down to a few cents per report and because the data is so cheap to fetch on-demand, I packaged it into a minimalist tool which strictly…

I might be the only SRE on Earth with his own bowling center. It's a more in-depth gig than you'd think. My family and I bought an abandoned 8-lane bowling center in the rural mid-west. In our small town there weren't many recreation options for families. You've heard of a food desert? This is an R&R desert. It had been abandoned for a good reason. The roof leaks, the electrical system was constantly surging, and my 70-year-old bowling equipment (still) doesn't work perfectly. The system that keeps your score is particularly interesting to me. It's the thing you watch during your game, but…

Over the past few months, our team has been building more and more slidedecks using web frontend technologies with coding harnesses like Claude Code, but a common complaint is to make even small edits we need to edit the code either manually or via the harness. To avoid this loop, I ended up creating Bento, a single HTML file with everything you need in a slide tool including animations and shared editing. There's no install or cloud login, everything works offline. The default deck is around 560 KB and it doesn't need to fetch anything once you got it. Open it in a browser and then you can…

A few days ago I found myself trying out GLM 5.2 and was really positively impressed. The capabilities and security I was getting from this LLM are similar to those I've gotten from models like Claude or GPT, and this really surprised me. But then I thought, "I wonder how it would work on a normal computer like mine," and above all, "I wonder if it would work without going into OOM on a computer like mine." So I started working with the help of agents to test this possibility. I started converting the model to int4, understanding MTP usage, and if possible implementing DSA for long context.…

OpenSEO▲928Hello! For the last 2 months, I've been building OpenSEO. It's a user friendly UI wrapping the DataForSEO API which has high quality SEO data for keywords, backlinks, AI SEO and competitor research. Instead of paying $100+ per month, you buy DataForSEO credits and pay only for usage. The coolest thing about the project so far has been hearing about what people are building on top of it. People are using coding agents to quickly integrate with Google Search Console, Google Ads and building their own AI SEO and reporting features. Many were already building their own custom solutions around…
