MoodRx

The mood app that actually talks back

MoodRx launched on June 18, 2026 with 4 votes, #3,322 of 22,647 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches.

What it does

Vent out loud. Get coached. Feel better. MoodRx is a mood tracker that actually does something about it. Tap, talk for 20 seconds, and Dr. MoodRx reads your mood from your voice, then prescribes a workout to match it. Then it roasts you through every set like a personal trainer who's also your funniest friend. No journaling, no clinical dashboards. Just vent, move, get heckled (think yo-mama style jokes), and feel better. Over time it spots patterns behind your moods so you can change them

Tap a mood, vent for 20 seconds, get a workout prescribed to match it, and get roasted through every set. Free on iPhone and Android. No account, data stays on your phone.

Tap how you feel, vent for twenty seconds, and Dr. MoodRx prescribes a workout to match. Then a coach roasts you through every set, out loud, about once a minute. No journaling, no dashboards. You move, you feel better. Your nervous system is a chihuahua that heard a doorbell. We're going to calm it down. You're anxious about starting the thing that treats the anxiety. Start anyway. Tap the phone to step through a session. Screens mirror the app. Being told you're doing great does nothing when you feel like garbage. So the coach doesn't. A fresh roast lands about once a minute during your workout, written for the mood you picked and the moment you're in. Pick a mood and see what you'd get.…from moodrxplus.netlify.app

I've often wondered whether there are any patterns or cycles to my moods so I built a simple iPhone app that occasionally pings me to ask how I'm feeling on a scale of 1 - 10. I also note down what I'm thinking or doing at that moment and automatically grab my location. I use the data to show some basic statistics on how I've been feeling on average over the past three days, past week and since I started tracking. There's also a graph of my moods over time. I'd love to get feedback on whether people would find something like this useful. I'm curious about what other things people would want…

  • Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

  • Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
