What it does
Most timers count your minutes. Motivv tells you what they were worth. An honest focus tracker for Mac that grades how you actually work, focus blocks, drift moments, and your real work rate. Not screen time. Real signal. £7.99 one-time. Yours forever.
The Mac focus timer that grades how you actually work. £7.99 one-time. No subscriptions.
Most timers count your minutes. Motivv tells you what they were worth. Three signals. One score. Real insight into how you actually work. Pick a target — 25 min, 90 min, whatever your rhythm is. Motivv starts watching how you work. A real-time score from the apps you use, your focus blocks, and how steady you stay. Not just elapsed time. Six-month heatmap. Streaks. Per-app breakdowns. Find when you actually do your best work. Every session, every streak, every hour of focus — laid out so you actually see your patterns. Not just for today. For the long arc. Most productivity apps charge that monthly. Motivv charges it once. Motivv runs entirely on your Mac. No accounts, no analytics servers,…from motivv.xyz

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
