Nanna Banana
The only reason this exists is because AI coding turns intrusive thoughts into product launches overnight. In reality, this was a good toy project to test out Cloudflare's platform. I've traditionally used AWS / Netlify / and a few others. Cloudflare was pretty easy to set up and they offer at-cost .ai domains. $140 for 2 years... painful for Nanna, but hey, boosts that valuation multiple by at least 2x. I'll probably use this as a project to experiment with some other things, like some of the new payments / billing startups being built for AI-specific use cases.
Nanna Banana launched on September 11, 2025 with 7 votes, #2,024 of 8,160 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

Boy, these API credits sure are costing grandma a lot. You know, my social security doesn't help much but you seem so sweet. Let me see if I've got a couple of nickels for you in my change purse. Leave me your email because, you know, some people are trying to take advantage of seniors like me. I'm sorry dear. Nanna doesn't have any more credits for you. Send me an email at [email protected] and I'll let you know how you can mail me a few quarters to help pay thefrom nannabanana.ai

Nano Banana 2Feb 2026 · blog.google · ▲416Hi HN — I’m an indie developer. I built Nano Banana 2 Playground, a simple web demo for generating images from text and transforming existing images (image-to-image). My goal was a fast, minimal UI that lets you iterate on prompts quickly and compare results without extra friction. I’d love feedback on: Prompt UX (what feels missing/confusing) Which controls/presets are actually useful How to communicate limitations and expected results clearly Thanks for taking a look — happy to answer questions and improve it based on your suggestions.
Koubou2025 · koubou.app · ▲9Hey! I saw this post a few days ago on HN [1] about the new Nano Banana model and decided to play with it. It's incredible (Mostly for editing IMHO)! The thing is, Google AI Studio is great for chat... for images, the UI is not ideal. So I decided to make my own thing: an infinite canvas for AI image exploration. :) Right now it only supports Nano Banana, but the plan is to include OpenAI, Replicate, and fal.ai this week! Would love to hear any feedback. Feel free to propose changes as well! Github: https://github.com/za01br/koubou [1]…

Hey HN! Thank you for all the support and feedback on my original submission 2 months ago. I've been improving the backend using a MCTS/AlphaZero approach and it's currently producing much better results. My long term goal is to allow users to manage multiple projects, deployed autonomously, both from scratch and by making continual updates all prompted with natural language. The cost of each project has been lowered to $9 as performance with smaller models has improved (I migrated from Claude-3-Opus to gemini-1.5-flash). Thanks for checking it out!

The site hit #1 on HN about a year ago. Got enough traffic that I turned it into a proper API. What's there: - REST API — 35k products, manually filterable by category, free key, 60 req/min - CLI — npx anycrap random -c food - faker.js plugin — bundled, no API call, works offline - HuggingFace dataset — full 35k rows for ML/training https://anycrap.shop/developers

I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into! So, I started with embedding apps into the terminal because that is the easiest input/output (output is just utf-8 and I use the great `chafa` library for that, and I just read from stdin for the input). If you have any other ideas for cool Wayland compositors, let me know. I purposedly wrote 80% the app in Typescript to appeal to the most developers and…

Years ago I stumbled across a basic version of this concept and it stuck with me. I knew if I was ever going to take on such a project, it would need to be flawless, but without coding experience it was just another idea that would never happen. By the end of 2024, as AI coding tools exploded everywhere, I finally had a way to make it real. I started from zero knowledge and spent months collaborating with AI agents as a learning experience. Every pixel and every function went through me. The AI translated what I asked for into code, but every decision was human. I didn't use existing OS…
