What it does
I couldn't finish books. Not because I didn't want to I just ran out of time. Sound familiar? I'm Boyd, a self taught engineer from Zambia. I built Niyah because my shelf was full of ebooks I never finished. Iwanted the insights without the guilt of never getting to page 200. Niyah lets you upload books straight from your own library not a curated catalog someone else chose. Your books. Your PDFs. Your notes. Pulls out the key insights and turns them into short audio you can listen to anywhere.

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it.
