Nomscore

Food tracking so easy it feels like a game

What it does

Most food trackers die in a week. They're tedious, cluttered, and feel like data entry. Nomscore flips that. Every meal gets a simple score, so logging feels less like a chore and more like a game you want to keep playing. No endless forms, no guilt, no setup marathon. Open it, log in seconds, watch your score climb. Built solo for people who've quit every other tracker. If staying consistent was always the hard part, Nomscore is designed to fix exactly that.

Nomscore scores any meal as one simple number, so eating well gets easy: most vegetables and fruit are free, and every week of meals can be planned for you.

A plate of salad is zero points. Grilled chicken is one. Nomscore scores any meal with one number — and can plan your whole week. A whole bowl of garden salad is 0 points. So are broccoli, an apple, a bowl of berries. Grilled chicken is 1. A slice of pizza is 5. The food that's good for you barely costs anything — so the better choice is also the easier one. A points budget is a budget, not a rule list. A slice of pizza costs 5 of your day — worth it on a Friday, and no app is going to tell you otherwise. Spend it how you like; tomorrow starts fresh. Log a whole meal in one spoken sentence — most logs take seconds, not minutes. One points budget instead of calorie math, macro grids, and a…from nomscore.app

I had always found meal tracking too boring. Healthify had huge forms that are boring to fill after each meal. Then it let you take pictures but then I always forget it to take them before eating. Meal tracking was such a pain, so I built an app where you can simply say what you ate and it will break it down into macros immediately. Now I'm that annoying guy who talks to his phone every time he ate.

  • Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

  • Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
