What it does
NYC Mesh is a neutral network that does not block or discriminate content. We do not collect, store, monitor, or log any user traffic or content that passes through our network. We can connect whole buildings by wireless for speeds between 80 Mbps up to 1 Gbps, or by fiber at 20 Gbps. Say hello on slack or meet us at a meetup (links at top right)
Join our community-owned network
The Internet is central to our lives, but in New York City far too many people don’t have access. We are a diverse group of volunteers dedicated to ending the digital divide and extending high-speed, reliable internet to all New Yorkers. You can help by joining our community network to get online, volunteering to connect neighbors or grow the network, and donating to improve our community infrastructure and ensure access for all. NYC Mesh is a neutral network and we do not monitor, collect, store or block any user data or content. By joining our network you agree to extend it to others! I am slowly adding more locations now. This is intended to be a crowdsourced map. Everyone is welcome to add more locations and provide comments/votes here. Free people from going to a cafe for work only to leave because there's no wifi, restroom, or outlet!! Demo: https://x.com/KSeisai/status/1708273554041504028?s=20
Open-Source 3D Location-Based Wireless Mesh Network2022 · github.com · ▲89I've decided to open source the project I've been working on called Hyperspace. Hyperspace is a suite of software implementing a wireless mesh network for IoT devices. My main requirements are listed on my repo but I'll copy them here. 1. The mesh shall enable nodes to route packets amongst themselves. 2. The mesh shall allow nodes with limited power to participate in routing packets. 3. The mesh shall be IPv6 based. 4. The mesh shall be local. I.E. not require connection to a remote server. 5. The mesh should provide 3D location to nodes in the network. Nodes use the Decawave DW1000 UWB…

Retool▲640Hi all, founder @ Retool here. We initially launched Retool on HN five years ago: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14515494. The feedback was extraordinarily helpful then (e.g. we launched source control, on-prem, etc. based on HN comments), and we’re grateful for all of it. Today, we’re excited to get HN’s thoughts on one of our new products: Retool Mobile. It lets you build and deploy mobile apps in minutes, not days. The idea is there is a large class of line-of-business mobile apps, and the process of getting a simple form + button on a mobile device, in a native app,…
