ogBlocks

Hey all! I created ogBlocks because, honestly, dealing with complex CSS and figuring out animation libraries was always a massive headache and most of them didn't even allow customization The goal was to enable everyone—not just animation experts drop in beautiful, interactive UI elements and animations into their React projects without worrying about the messy code underneath. Think of it as the easy button for awesome user experiences without worrying about styling and animation complexities I know you'll love the product - just check it out Karan

ogBlocks launched on August 6, 2025 with 7 votes, #3,174 of 8,530 launches that month. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

What it does

ogBlocks is an animated React component library consisting of 40 beautiful animated components + a free 107-page ebook consisting of tips about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Looking at websites such as Clerk, I began thinking that design engineers might be some kind of wizards. I wanted to understand how they do it, so I started reverse-engineering their components out of curiosity. One thing led to another, and I ended up building a small library of reusable, animated components based on what I found. The library is built in React and Framer Motion. I’d love to hear your feedback

I made this because building UIs in a lexical medium like code is super annoying. I have to pre-render what I’m making in my head, and then jump between the browser and IDE to test. I was inspired by the developer console in chrome and safari since I end up editing css there because it’s ironically more convenient. Hope it’s useful!

When I started my career and built my first design system, I was beyond excited. It took a lot of iterations, learning and 6 months of work to launch it internally. In the next job, I did it again, then at the following job, again… And no matter which company I worked for, 80% of the design system was the same. I’ve decided to work full-time on the design system I’ve always wanted, and today I’m launching and open-sourcing it. You can use it to build Next.js apps faster, and I’ve designed it in a way that it’s hard to go wrong with it: you can choose any settings, and you’ll end up with a…

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
