Ollie
Your AI teammate - connected, local, and in control
What it does
Most AI assistants only chat. Ollie acts. One click connect; no dev setup to Gmail, Outlook, Slack, QuickBooks, Stripe, and many more. Then watch it actually get work done: sending emails, booking meetings, chasing invoices, answering finance questions straight from your real books. It runs locally on your machine, so your data and memory never leave your device. The more you use it, the sharper it gets.
Ollie is a local-first AI agent that reads your email, chats, documents, and files through simple one-click connectors. No terminal, no config files. Built for everyone. Join the waitlist.
An AI agent that reads your email, chats, documents, and files through one-click connectors, then answers questions about your world, entirely on your machine. No terminal. No config files. Every connection is another tentacle, one more part of your work Ollie can read. There are two ways in: an open standard that covers almost any tool, and ready-made connections for the apps you open every morning. MCP is the open plug tools use to let an AI read them. Ollie speaks it out of the box, down to the server your team built in-house. Sign in the way you always do. That’s it. Ollie starts reading straight away, with nothing to install or set up. Not a chatbot with a finance skin. The operations…from siriil.com

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…

I built slotstream, a way to run Qwen3.8-Flash-Next 4-bit on a low-memory mac starting from 16GB, a 125B parameter model that would need 100GB+ memory/RAM, thanks to expert-offloading/ssd-streaming. Easy to install/update, and mac-native using MLX and Swift. It ships with auto-mode, which makes a good tradeoff between memory usage and speed. I'll be implementing and porting the MTP module for speculative decoding next Local models really are the future of computing!
