In plain words
One makefile to rule them all is a development tool shared on GitHub that provides a unified makefile configuration. It's designed for developers who want to standardize their build processes across multiple projects. The tool simplifies project setup and task automation by offering a single, reusable makefile template that can be adapted to different needs.

I think you meant to use LDFLAGS here ( https://gist.github.com/LiquidityC/c832cd3d8394f267299d43b1f1719e90#file-makefile-L70 ). Geez. Totally missed $(LDFLAGS) at the end of the line. My mistake. To make it cross-compile compatible, you should declare the variable with ?= . That the makefile can grab compiler or the ldflags variables from the environment as exported by the various SDKs (like the yoctofrom gist.github.com

Makedown – A Markdown powered Makefile alternative2024 · github.com · ▲142`makedown` allows you to organise your shell scripts in one or several markdown files, by mix and matching different scripting languages for various commands and needs. zsh/bash/sh, python, javascript or anything else available on your system. Handy for replacing one-line-based package.json scripts or shell-based Makefiles. One can also write documentation and explanations to various commands in the same `.md` file. Most editors highlight correctly most languages in the markdown code blocks, even when you use several scripting languages. Here is a demo .md file…

A developer's machine accumulates tools fast. A Rust CLI you compiled last year, a Python formatter installed via `uv`, a language server pulled from npm, a terminal emulator from a curl script, a Go binary built from source. Each came from a different package manager, each with its own install incantation you half-remember. I wanted a way to declare what I need without adopting a complex system like Nix or Ansible just for a single laptop. The result was a plain old Makefile. I wrote a short post on using Make (along with a tiny bash script and fzf) to create a searchable, single-command…
Just.sh – compiler that turns Justfiles into portable shell scripts2023 · github.com · ▲64Justfiles are like Makefiles, except Just is a command runner, whereas Make is a build system. As I understand it, Just was built to be a less arcane version of Make for collecting commands common to a code repository. When I first learned about Just, I realized that parsing arguments and running commands is exactly what shell scripts do, and there probably isn't much Just does that sh doesn't. This project proves that hypothesis by compiling Justfiles to portable (POSIX-compatible) shell scripts. just.sh is particularly useful for running Justfiles in esoteric environments where Just may…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
