OpenDeck – Platform for building MIDI controllers
This is OpenDeck, my own platform for building custom MIDI controllers. I've been working on it for more than 10 years, and now I've made the biggest change so far - rewritten the entire codebase to make use of Zephyr - RTOS with which I've been working professionally for few years now. This now allows me to support many newer boards, complex features and also to modernize the codebase in general. I've been limited on all fronts before. The platform itself allows for simple building and configuring of custom MIDI controllers - main reason for that is because it requires no coding. Load the…

A platform for building interactive control and sensing devices using MIDI and OSC built with Zephyr RTOS. - shanteacontrols/OpenDeck
OpenDeck is a platform for building interactive control and sensing devices using MIDI and OSC. From USB MIDI DJ controllers and DAW control surfaces to Ethernet-connected OSC nodes, sensor interfaces and media installations, OpenDeck supports a wide range of hardware projects. The platform lets you focus on hardware and interaction design rather than tweaking and debugging firmware. - APA platform for remote piano lessons based on the Web MIDI API2024 · keyboardconnect.com · ▲224
I'm building a video conferencing app designed to facilitate better remote piano lessons. My hope is to solve a lot of the challenges piano tutors and new students deal with when taking lessons through Skype/Zoom. It leverages WebRTC's data transmission to send media, MIDI state, and (eventually) send sheet music files and other musical data. I'm surprised with how well the MVP has worked and would love to hear any feedback or suggestions!

- IBI built a WebMIDI sequencer to control my hardware synthsDec 2025 · simplychris.ai · ▲43
Hey HN, I’m an ex-Google engineer trying to get back into music production. I needed a way to sequence my hardware synths using AI contexts without constantly switching windows, so I built this. It runs entirely in the browser using WebMIDI. No login required. It connects to your local MIDI devices (if you're on Chrome/Edge) and lets you generate patterns. Tech stack: [React / WebMIDI API / etc]. Link: www.simplychris.ai/droplets Code is a bit messy, but it works. Feedback welcome.

Talanoa▲345Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
