What it does

Openlayer provides observability, evaluation, and versioning tools for LLMs and machine learning products.

Openlayer is the AI governance and observability platform for regulated enterprises: one place to test, monitor, and govern every model, agent, and AI system your company runs.

The AI governance platform that tests before you ship, monitors what's live, and enforces policy in real time. Audit-ready evidence comes standard. Your controls are not keeping up. Your controls are not keeping up. Copilots, agents, and models are going to production across every business unit. Most companies can't list them, few can test them, and almost none can prove to a regulator what any of them did last Tuesday. Each layer delivers value on its own. Together, they turn scattered AI into systems you can govern, observe, and prove are under control. Know every AI system running, org-wide inventory and automatic shadow-AI detection. You can’t govern what you can’t see, so this is where…from openlayer.com

Hey HN, my name is Vikas, and my cofounders Rish, Gabe and I are building Openlayer: http://openlayer.com/ Openlayer is an ML testing, evaluation, and observability platform designed to help teams pinpoint and resolve issues in their models. We were ML engineers experiencing the struggle that goes into properly evaluating models, making them robust to the myriad of unexpected edge cases they encounter in production, and understanding the reasons behind their mistakes. It was like playing an endless game of whack-a-mole with Jupyter notebooks and CSV files — fix one issue and…

  • Hi HN! I’m proud to share that we have built a real 3rd party iMessage client for Android. We did it by reverse engineering the iMessage protocol and encryption system. It's available to download today (no waitlist): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beeper.ima and there's a technical writeup here: https://blog.beeper.com/p/how-beeper-mini-works. Unlike every other attempt to build an iMessage app for Android (including our first gen app), Beeper Mini does not use a Mac server relay in the cloud. The app connects directly to Apple…

  • Hey! I made Heynote entirely for my own use case. For many years, I always had an Emacs instance running with the scratch buffer open, even long after I had abandoned Emacs as my programming editor in favor of more recent IDE:s. The simplicity of having just one big scratch buffer appeals to me, but I still want to separate the different things I jot down somehow (without using tabs or similar). Previously, my solution was to insert a bunch of blank lines between the notes, but hitting C-A would still select the entire buffer. That's why I came up with the concept of "blocks", which turned…
