OralCheck
Free oral cancer risk screener. 2 minutes. Nothing saved.
What it does
Oral cancer has an 84% five-year survival rate when caught early — but most people haven't thought about their risk. OralCheck is a free, private 10-question screener built on published risk data from the American Cancer Society, NCI, and the Oral Cancer Foundation. No account. No tracking. Everything stays on your device. Results tell you your risk tier and point you toward affordable care: Health centers, dental schools, and free clinics near you. Built by a predental student at UW-Madison.

Coded using Gemini Pro 2.5 (free version) in about 2-3 hours. Single file including all html/js/css, Vanilla JS, no backend, scores persisted with localStorage. Deployed using ubuntu/apache2/python/flask on a £5 Digital Ocean server (but could have been hosted on a static hosting provider as it's just a single page with no backend). Images / metadata stored in an AWS S3 bucket.

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
