What it does

Parall is the first and only macOS app that lets you run multiple instances of any app - natively and without hacks. Create independent macOS app shortcuts with unique data, environment variables, command line arguments and HOME overrides. Each shortcut behaves like a standalone app with its own Dock icon and settings. Works fully offline, privacy-friendly, and ideal for Chrome-based browsers, Firefox, Slack, Notion, VS Code, Dropbox, Discord and more. Parall is now live in the Mac App Store.

Parall lets you run multiple instances of supported macOS apps and turn websites into Web App Shortcuts with unique Dock icons, custom data paths, HOME overrides, environment variables, Dock effects, file/folder shortcuts, and command-line launchers.

Parall lets you run supported macOS apps as separate instances, each with its own name and Dock icon. Where the target app supports it, instances can also use separate accounts, profiles, and data. It does this through lightweight shortcuts that keep the original app untouched and can also launch websites, files, folders, and command-line tools. Parall lets you launch multiple instances of supported apps, separate their data where supported, and choose how each one appears in the Dock so they can behave like distinct apps. Parall's core could not be assembled from public documentation because the app behavior it depends on is undocumented. It grew from years of reverse engineering macOS app…from parall.app
