What it does
Phoneless Garden creates moments of awareness when you use your selected apps. User selects what apps are taken into account. User picks a time limit, for example 15 minutes and when it's hit, a short pause appears with one question: What brings you here? Then user chooses: continue with a timer, or close. Both are valid outcomes. When timer is reached again a new pause appears. Set day specific goals because not all days are the same. Track mood and compare it to usage.
Phoneless Garden adds a mindful pause when a tracked app crosses your set threshold. No blocking, no shame. Free for iOS and Android.
Phoneless Garden is a digital wellness app for iOS and Android that creates small moments of awareness once you've been on your selected apps longer than you meant to. No blocking. Just a pause, mid-scroll. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube: whatever you've chosen to track. A moment to breathe and a simple question: What brings you here? Continue with intention or close and move on. If you continue, you set how long until the next pause. Phoneless Garden doesn't tell you what to do with your time. It just helps you notice how you're spending it. After you have used a tracked app past your threshold, a calm screen appears. Take a breath. Read the question. Then choose: stay or go. There's no wrong…from phonelessgarden.com

Parallel agents, diff reviewer, and multi-model comparisons

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
