Ping

A quiet buzz when your people are nearby.

What it does

The idea is simple: if a friend is nearby, your phone gives you a quiet buzz. No feed, no endless scrolling, no public map, and no “where are you?” texting loop. Current features: 500m nearby detection invisible mode cooldowns so it doesn’t spam you grouped pings when multiple friends are nearby Android beta APK I built it because I wanted social apps to feel a little more real-world again. More spontaneous coffee/walk/meetup energy, less staring at a screen.

We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
