What it does
Add a cute animated pixel pet to Chrome. Pick a dog, cat, duck and more to walk, sleep and hop along the bottom of every page. Three pets are free.
A tiny animal walks along the bottom edge of every page you open. It dozes off on its own, wakes up when you scroll, and hops when you click it. That is the whole product — no meter to fill, nothing to feed. ↓ One is already walking along the bottom of this window. Click it and it will hop. Every sprite below is the real thing, drawn by the same code that runs inside the extension. Along the bottom edge, at the pace of a small animal. It turns around at the window edges and never covers what you are reading. Walk, sit, doze — it cycles through the three on its own. Scrolling the page wakes a sleeping pet up. I made OwnTime to balance between competing priorities in my life. The idea is based on two main influences: the concept of "roles" from "The 5 Choices" (2015), and my repeated failure to effectively implement time blocking due to the necessary flexibility in my role. The app allows you to define time budgets, which are not much more than a few mutually exclusive countdown timers.
