In plain words
Postgres-SQLite extends PostgreSQL to treat SQLite databases as native data types, allowing developers to store and query SQLite files directly within Postgres. It's designed for teams that need to work with both database systems without managing separate tools or data pipelines. The extension enables seamless integration between the two databases, making it useful for applications that combine Postgres's server capabilities with SQLite's portability.

postgres-sqlite is a PostgreSQL extension that introduces SQLite databases as a first-class data type within PostgreSQL. By leveraging the PostgreSQL "expanded datum" API and SQLite's sqlite3_serialize / sqlite3_deserialize APIs, postgres-sqlite enables the efficient creation and storage of small SQLite databases (up to 1GB) directly within PostgreSQL tables. This efficiency is achieved through PostgreSQL's compressed TOAST storage in conjunction with SQLite's native serialization API. Importantly, postgres-sqlite does not require filesystem access—SQLite databases are fully managed within PostgreSQL tables. postgres-sqlite simplifies multitenancy by embedding isolated SQLite databases…from github.com

Embed an SQLite database in your PostgreSQL table2024 · github.com · ▲180pglite-fusion is a PostgreSQL extension that allows you to embed SQLite databases into your PostgreSQL tables by enabling the creation of columns with the `SQLITE` type. This means every row in the table can have an embedded SQLite database. In addition to the PostgreSQL `SQLITE` type, pglite-fusion provides the `query_sqlite`` function for querying SQLite databases and the `execute_sqlite` function for updating them. Additional functions are listed in the project’s README. The pglite-fusion extension is written in Rust using the pgrx framework [1]. ---- Implementation Details The PostgreSQL…

PGlite – in-browser WASM Postgres with pgvector and live sync2024 · pglite.dev · ▲509Hey, Sam and the team from ElectricSQL here. PGlite is a WASM Postgres build packaged into a TypeScript/JavaScript client library, that enables you to run Postgres in the browser, Node.js and Bun, with no need to install any other dependencies. It's 3mb Gzipped, now has support for many Postgres extensions, including pgvector, and it has a reactive "live query" API. It's also fast, with CRUD style queries executing in under 0.3 ms, and larger, multi-row select queries occurring within a fraction of a single frame. PGlite started as an experimental project we shared on X, and the…

Talanoa▲341Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

I realized that the PDF engines of modern desktop browsers (PDFium and PDF.js) support JavaScript with enough I/O primitives to make a basic game like Tetris. It was a bit tricky to find a union of features that work in both engines, but in the end it turns out that showing/hiding annotation "fields" works well to make monochrome pixels, and keyboard input can be achieved by typing in a text input box. All in all it's quite janky but a nice reminder of how general purpose PDF scripting can be. The linked PDF is all ASCII so you can just open it in a text editor, or have a look at…

21st.dev▲1,211I originally built this app to organize and reuse interesting React + Tailwind components I came across on Twitter, inspired by the shadcn/ui approach. Later, a friend started contributing their own components, and it got me thinking—this could grow into something bigger, like an NPM for design engineers to share and use components. Would love to hear your thoughts!
