What it does
We won a NASA award to send a satellite into space. We're creating a modern version of Carl Sagan's Golden Record which was a Time Capsule sent into space back in the 70s. Carl Sagan is a personal hero of mine and since it's the 40th anniversary of the Golden Record we just had to do it! We're gathering leaders of many fields around the world to represent humanity and what it's like today. Youth cultural leaders like Casey Neistat and Logan Paul. The biggest names in Aerospace, Peter Diamandis and Burt Rutan. We also have the best musician in the world, Taylor Swift participating. We're gathering as many videos as we can to represent humanity as best as possible. Our goal is to get at least one video from every country in the world. So contribute whatever you like! It could be a memory of a loved one. You & your friends having fun! A news clip that you feel represents 2017 (oh there are so many...). Anything you like that you feel represents you and/or represents the world! Now get going!

ISS in Real Time – 25 Years Aboard the International Space StationOct 2025 · issinrealtime.org · ▲165Today my collaborator and I are releasing issinrealtime.org, a multimedia project that plays back every day onboard the ISS. Feedback welcomed. Here's an article that was just released about it: https://www.collectspace.com/news/news-102725a-iss-in-real-t... I also wrote a "making of" post about it here: https://benfeist.com/posts/iss-in-real-time/

Beautiful 3D ISS tracker with live video and near-realtime clouds2024 · iss.matteason.co.uk · ▲139This is a little hobby project that I hope you enjoy. You can see where the International Space Station is now, with live HD video from NASA, on a realistic 3D globe. The positions of the sun and moon are also accurate, though distances aren't to scale. The clouds are also near-realtime; I span that out into a separate project at https://clouds.matteason.co.uk, where the cloud images I create from EUMETSAT data are freely available. I've got more features almost ready to go, like the ability to turn off all UI, toggleable clouds and turning off the day/night cycle I'd love for…
My high school team’s space probe2025 · drive.google.com · ▲157Me and a few friends made this design document as part of our entry to the UK CanSat competition where a high school team is required to build a probe to be launched. The probe must serve some purpose, and ours was to map the temperature and pressure of the air at different altitudes. We had the opportunity to launch it a week ago and you can find the video of our launch here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16bsLzxjP7OWRqVvCB62cLv7QYLR... During the launch we reached 400m above sea level, and the can pulled 70gs successfully. The parachute and can stayed intact.…
