Pull Request Badge
Add context to your pull request descriptions
Pull Request Badge launched on September 1, 2020 with 7 votes, #1,241 of 3,898 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.
What it does
A GitHub App lets you programatically insert badges in your pull request descriptions and then link them to anything. I initially created to deal with JIRA links, but it can easily present any kind of information through the simple and flexible API.
After installation, Pull Request Badge will receive a webhook event whenever a Pull Request is opened or edited. Based on the configuration file in your repository, badges that match criteria will be inserted at the beginning of the Pull Request description. Initially created to create JIRA badges, Pull Request Badge evolved to handle any kind of information. For example: how about adding a preview badge with a link to a preview instance? Or indicate if the Pull Request is rather large? Check out our playground to learn more. Your creativity is the limit. Hello there! That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

It was a side-project that went well, but never generated enough money to allow me to fully commit to leaving the Day Job. After surviving the Big C, and getting made redundant I thought I might improve and relaunch it commercially – but my doctors are a pessimistic bunch, so it looked like I didn’t have the time. Instead, I rejigged/relaunched it via a Reddit forum this February as free and open - and have now gathered a team of helpers to ensure that it keeps going each month even after I can’t…
