What it does
Playing cards have used the same visual language for 600 years - suits, pips, court illustrations. Pure Data strips all of that away. Every card in the deck is a structured JSON object: rank, suit, type. Nothing else. A companion web app uses OCR to scan the cards and render the face visually. The deck functions as both a physical object and a dataset. Funded in 24 hours on Kickstarter. Currently at 400%.

Wordbots is a long-running side project I've been working on on-and-off for the past ~7 years that I finally feel comfortable enough with to share with the HN community.
