QuackStack
Your cracked unpaid intern for all things codebase related!
What it does
QuackStack 🐥 is an interactive CLI that lets you chat with your codebase. It indexes your project using local AI embeddings (no API calls, no data leaks) and answers questions conversationally. Perfect for exploring unfamiliar repos, onboarding fast, or giving your AI tools real context. Works with Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Continue, and Aider. npm install -g quackstack → quack

- QCQuack Companion – VSCode extension for OSS contribution assistance2023 · github.com · ▲49
Hello there, I'm FG (short for François-Guillaume)! I’m building Quack Companion (https://github.com/quack-ai/companion), a tool designed to bridge the gap between project maintainers and contributors in open-source software (OSS). If you've ever contributed to OSS, you're familiar with the challenge: diving into a new codebase, aligning with maintainers' expectations, and making meaningful contributions can be daunting. For maintainers, managing a flood of contributions and providing guidance while maintaining quality is overwhelming. As a contributor to PyTorch & an OSS…

- TBTabstack – Browser infrastructure for AI agents (by Mozilla)Jan 2026 · ▲130
Hi HN, My team and I are building Tabstack to handle the "web layer" for AI agents. Launch Post: https://tabstack.ai/blog/intro-browsing-infrastructure-ai-ag... Maintaining a complex infrastructure stack for web browsing is one of the biggest bottlenecks in building reliable agents. You start with a simple fetch, but quickly end up managing a complex stack of proxies, handling client-side hydration, and debugging brittle selectors. and writing custom parsing logic for every site. Tabstack is an API that abstracts that infrastructure. You send a URL and an intent; we…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
