Quantum logic gates for a single qubit, interactively

Drag and drop quantum gates to see how they act on a qubit.

What it does

Quantum computers use quantum physics to perform computation. They use phenomena such as superposition and entanglement that make it possible to use more powerful algorithms than in classical computing (Nielsen and Chuang 2000 ) . In classical computing, we use the electric signal as the carrier of information. In quantum, we use various implementations, including the polarization of light, the spin of ions, and the states of superconductors. In classical computing, the basic unit is a bit - 0 or 1. In quantum computing, the basic unit is a qubit. Instead of just two values, we have a vector with two components. In this article, we explore what a single qubit is, and what are the quantum…from quantumflytrap.com

Hi! I built this to teach myself how a quantum circuit simulator works. It's about 1000 lines of Python, aiming to be understandable more than being fast or robust. It's not meant to compete with anything else - just a personal project to really get clear on the under-the-hood theory of qubits and quantum gates.

This has been a small labour of love for a few days. Just a fun idea I had to create a single qubit quantum circuit simulator with interactive 3D bloch sphere. Check out my blog post linked on the page for further introduction to quantum computing!

I wanted to make the simplest app to introduce myself and others to quantum computing. Introducing, Schrödinger's Coin. Powered by a simple Hadamard gate[0] on IBM quantum, with this app you can directly interact with a quantum system to experience true randomness. Thoughts? Could you see any use cases for yourself of this? Or, does it inspire any other ideas of yours? Curious what others on HN think! [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_logic_gate#Hadamard_ga...
