QuiGuard

Selfhosted proxy; scrubs secrets from AI Agent tool calls.

What it does

QuiGuard is a security layer for AI Agents. It sits between your agent and the LLM to ensure sensitive data (PII, API Keys) never leaves your network. Core Features: Tool Call Scrubbing: Detects secrets inside JSON arguments before execution. Inbound Filtering: Sanitizes tool responses (Jira/SQL data) before it hits the LLM context. Clean Logs: Ensures your observability tools (LangSmith/Arize) stay clean of PII. Self-Hosted: Docker-ready. Stop debugging with redacted logs. Build agents safely.

Your AI agent hits an infinite loop and racks up $2000 in API charges overnight. This happens weekly to AI developers. AgentGuard monitors API calls in real-time and automatically kills your process when it hits your budget limit. How it works: Add 2 lines to any AI project: const agentGuard = require('agent-guard'); await agentGuard.init({ limit: 50 }); // $50 budget // Your existing code runs unchanged const response = await openai.chat.completions.create({...}); // AgentGuard tracks costs automatically When your code hits $50 in API costs, AgentGuard stops…

The only way to go fast is full YOLO mode in your coding agent. I've got the local sandbox figured out (pro tip: Incus VMs work great) but I wanted to keep my agents from doing things like inadvertently blowing up my cloud services or chasing a prompt to POST to some random website. I struggle most with this on my side projects where my permission model isn't quite as robust as it is at the office. I started with a firewall on the Incus container but every time the agent needed access to something new, I was poking more holes in it - and it didn't differentiate between HTTP verbs. I've been…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

  • Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
