What it does
Rakkan is a chat app for couples who don't share a language. It translates every message and your live video-call captions between your language and theirs, and it shows you a read-back of what you actually said before it sends, so you're never guessing. It keeps your relationship in every line, your tone, your pet names, your history, so it sounds like you two and not a dictionary. Speaks 7 languages, works in the browser or on your phone, free to start.
A real-time chat messenger like WhatsApp, with relationship-aware AI translation and back-translation in every message. Chat and video-call across languages, talk to your Thai partner or girlfriend in your own words. Built for long-distance, cross-language couples. Free to start.
Rakkan carries every message and every spoken word across the distance, warm and exactly as you meant it, so the gap between your languages stops getting in the way. Rakkan is a real-time chat messenger, like WhatsApp or LINE, where every message is translated between your language and your partner's, both directions, inline. It automatically reads a rolling window of your last 8 messages plus your saved relationship context, so your tone, nicknames, pronouns and the current topic carry across every translation instead of resetting each line. It shows a read-back of what you actually said before it sends, captions your live video calls, and speaks seven languages across any pair. Two time…from rakkan.app

Homebrew 6.0.0▲1,481Today, I’m proud to announce Homebrew 6.0.0. The most significant changes since 5.1.0 are a new tap trust security mechanism, the new faster, smaller, default internal Homebrew JSON API, sandboxing on Linux, better defaults informed by our user survey, many brew bundle improvements, improved performance and initial support for macOS 27 (Golden Gate). Happy to discuss any questions here!

Hi HN! I was super frustrated at apps like tiktok and wechat preventing me from saving or downloading the animated gifs, so I made a little tool to turn a screen recording into a slack-sized emoji. Hope you get some value from this!
