Real Job Check
I built Real Job Check after seeing how many people, including myself, have fallen for a convincing fake job posting. "Recruiters" on WhatsApp, "task" jobs that ask you to deposit money to get paid, offers that want your bank details before there has been an interview. While there are a couple existing solutions out there, none of them actually show their work. Feedback welcome!
Real Job Check launched on June 12, 2026 with 3 votes, #6,658 of 22,647 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches.
What it does
Job scams cost Americans $501M in 2024, up from $90M in 2020; and the convincing ones now look like real offers. Existing tools can scan for obvious red flags, but Real Job Check runs checks a careful person would actually do: domain age, email authentication, whether the same role is listed on the company's real careers board (i.e. Workday), and pay realism. If it looks real, it routes you to the company's own application page. If it looks like a scam, it hands you a ready-to-file report.
