Refactored – personal time tracker with Git
After some feedback I spent some time re-reading through the git docs, and refactored to add time tracking data into the commit message directly. It's simpler than using tags. thanks.

A pair of git hooks to automatically track time spent in feature development. My blog post is here , which describes the motivation and how it works. These hooks automatically add time tracking commit messages when you merge a feature branch. You can use this time data to infer entropy in your process/code. $ git log --since="1 month ago" | grep Time | grep webui | cut -f2 -d= | paste -s -d+ - | bc | paste -s -ds - | sed -e 's/$/\/60\/60\/24/g' | bc 4 Install You can simply copy the two hooks into ./git/hooks/ and make them executable. I've been trying to figure out how long feature development takes, for years. I'm not a fan of (a priori) estimations of work, which just seem like the wrong measure. I think I've got a better way. Genuinely interested if some git gurus can improve this. Particularly around the pre-push hook, which is dependent on retained squash commit text. Or if there's an entirely better way to achieve the same thing.

Hi everyone, I built PyXL — a hardware processor that executes a custom assembly generated from Python programs, without using a traditional interpreter or virtual machine. It compiles Python -> CPython Bytecode -> Instruction set designed for direct hardware execution. I’m sharing an early benchmark: a GPIO test where PyXL achieves a 480ns round-trip toggle — compared to 14-25 micro seconds on a MicroPython Pyboard - even though PyXL runs at a lower clock (100MHz vs. 168MHz).
