Reka Edge

Hi HN, We built something new! It is an AI agent that can: - iterate through up to a dozen sources (web or GDrive) - reason between hops in natural language (exposed in the trace) - generate structured JSON so downstream code can consume results deterministically It not only delivers state-of-the-art performance on both SimpleQA and Reka Research-Eval, but also shatters the notion that cutting-edge AI must come at a premium, being significantly more affordable than alternatives. Tech stack highlights - Base model: Reka Flash 3.1 (trained from scratch, post-trained with RL on verifiable…

What it does

Reka Edge is a highly efficient 7B Vision Language Model engineered for Physical AI. Featuring a ConvNeXt V2 encoder, it uses 3x fewer tokens for image processing, delivering sub-second latency for video analysis, object detection, and agentic tool use.

Discover Reka Edge, a fast, open and easy to deploy model built for physical AI, robotics, automotive systems and real time video.

Frontier–level visual intelligence. Optimized for deployment. Engineered for Speed. Reka Edge is the fastest vision language model in the 7B - 8B class designed for real world systems. Our model process videos and images with fewer tokens, which translates to concrete reductions in latency and memoryfrom reka.ai

Hey HN, We are Winston, Edward, and James, and we built Meka Agent, an open-source framework that lets vision-based LLMs execute tasks directly on a computer, just like a person would. Backstory: In the last few months, we've been building computer-use agents that have been used by various teams for QA testing, but realized that the underlying browsing frameworks aren't quite good enough yet. As such, we've been working on a browsing agent. We achieved 72.7% on WebArena compared to the previous state of the art set by OpenAI's new ChatGPT agent at 65.4%. You can read more about it here:…

n8n is built for humans dragging nodes on a canvas. That breaks down at B2B scale (embedding in a product, multi-tenant scalability, etc). n8n does have an MCP server so agents can create workflows too, but it outputs raw JSON. That's fine for n8n's engine, but painful for a coding agent (or a human reviewing its output) to read, write, diff, or debug. I'm building an alternative where workflows are authored by a coding agent in [a more dev-legible format] instead of JSON blobs, and execute it at scale.

  • With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them.
