RespiraWorks

Open source ventilator for the developing world

RespiraWorks launched on April 20, 2020 with 1 votes. The site was still online in September 2026, 6 years on.

What it does

The RespiraWorks ventilator is a low-cost, life-saving device. While there are teams working on emergency "bridge" ventilators, we believe we're the only team tackling the much harder problem of adaptive ventilator support in an open source manner.

RespiraWorks is designing a single, accessible, open-source, low-cost ventilator, for strained communities globally.

Our mission is to build open-source, high-quality essential medical equipment for people in distress, wherever they are. RespiraWorks is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to rapidly design a low-cost, open-source ventilator and powered air-purifying respirator for communities underserved by the global supply chain. Our objective is to provide the know-how and technology to enable others to manufacture these systems and put them in the hands of those who need them most. We have partnered with a team in India, FoundryM, to deploy and manufacture ventilators to address COVID-19 cases there. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

  • https://github.com/OlexG/finclaw ^ repo if anyone wants to contribute. I realized that sometimes I'm pretty good at making random guesses about the future. (I.E, I think OpenAI will beat Anthropic in the short term, etc...) However, I'm bad at converting these guesses into actual market plays I can profit from. As such, I wanted to make a tool that connects to the right APIs and launches a swarm of agent experts to generate related plays based on your prediction. The very first super shitty V0 MPV just has Polymarket/Kalshi bets, but I will be adding a more complex…
